SOZUSA Nominations

(a) Nominations to stand for SOZUSA elections should be sent in by:

(i)   e-mail to info@sozusa.org;
(ii)  telephoning any member of the Executive Committee of SOZUSA, expressing an interest to stand for the elections;
(iii) verbal communication with any member of the Executive Committee of SOZUSA, expressing an interest to stand for the elections; or,
(iv)  written submissions, through postal mail, to the Chairman of SOZUSA, expressing an interest to stand for the elections.   

(b) The onus is on the prospective candidate or his/her sponsor to ensure that the nomination has been filed properly and received by the SOZUSA Executive Committee. To facilitate this goal, the most desirable and helpful means of communicating with SOZUSA would be through a written e-mail nomination to info@sozusa.org.

(c) Nominations should be sent in by the prospective candidate himself or herself, or by his or her proxy who should have discussed fully with the nominee and obtained the nominee's permission to put his or her (the nominee's) name forward for the elections.

(d) Receipt of nominations starts four weeks before the SOZUSA Elections Date. The SOZUSA Elections Date is designated as May 22, 2004.

(e) Receipt of nominations continue throughout the period of the elections until a vacancy is filled.

(f) A sponsor of a nomination can nominate as many candidates as possible for any position, subject to receiving the nominee's acceptance to stand for the elections;

(g) A nominated candidate can also nominate other candidates to stand for any position, including the position he or she is standing for;

(h) SOZUSA Executive Committee will formulate and provide guidelines to govern a fair and open electoral process on the elections date. These guidelines will be made available on the elections day.
